President
Term Limit: 2 years
Definition: The key role is to develop the long-term vision of the club.
The president will often be tasked with taking on special projects to help achieve this aim.
They will officiate the AGM in the year in which their role is not up for election (i.e. the chair role is.)
They are a member of the Club, Financial, Discipline, Facilities & Executive committees.

Chair
Term Limit: 2 Years
Definition: A leader in the day-to-day running of the hockey club, oversight over all sections of the club. An impartial mediator
Engagement with England, North West and other hockey stakeholders
Has the casting vote at AGM/Committee’s
They run the club committee meetings.
They will officiate the AGM in the year in which their role is not up for election (i.e. the president role is.)
They are a member of the Club, Financial, Discipline, Social, Facilities & Executive committees.

Secretary
Term Limit: 1 year
Sends out agenda for club committee
Keeps the minutes for the club committee and formalises minutes.
Makes sure formalised minutes are put on the website (works with web officer)
Deals with Club Correspondence, distributing to relevant officers for response when required.
Acts as a signatory on the club account.
They are a member of the Club, Discipline, Facilities & Executive committees.

Treasurer
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Holder of the club bank account, in the name of the club.
Primary signatory on the club account.
Keep detailed records of all financial accounts
Produce Budget Summaries for the half year and AGM.
Produce annual Budget
Prepare annual balance and profit/loss sheets
They are a member of the Club, Financial, & Discipline committee.

Welfare
Term Limit: 1 year
Promotion of safe and confidential practices across the club
Promotion and maintenance of club code of conduct.
First point of contact for any concerns.
Implementation of Club reporting structure and process.
Ensure adherence to the club's child welfare training.
They are a member of the Club & Discipline committee.

Non Mandatory Roles
Vice Chair
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: To make sure the chair can carry out their role, to facilitate and assist as best they can. When required step in for the Chair when they are unavailable.
They are a member of the Club, Financial, Discipline, Social & Executive committees.

Fixtures Secretary
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: To add in, update, and maintain, the club fixtures for all sections.
To manage pitch bookings for all teams
They are a member of the Club & Facilities committee.

Men’s Section Lead
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Along with the Chair, create a long-term plan for the section OR maintain and refresh the plan. This person should not be a team captain.
Champion of the Men’s section plan.
Mediate concerns between men’s team captains.
Mediate selection issues (alongside the head coach (if there is one))
They are a member of the Club committee, and they maybe invited to the Discipline Committee if required.

Women’s Section Lead
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Along with the Chair, create a long-term plan for the section OR maintain and refresh the plan. This person should not be a team captain.
Champion of the Women’s section plan.
Mediate concerns between women’s team captains.
Mediate selection issues (alongside the head coach (if there is one))
They are a member of the Club committee, and they maybe invited to the Discipline Committee if required.

Junior’s Section Lead
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Along with the Chair, create a long-term plan for the section OR maintain and refresh the plan.
Champion of the Junior section plan.
Make sure that juniors are well represented across age groups.
Ensure fairness amongst age groups/abilities.
They are a member of the Club committee, and they maybe invited to Discipline Committee if required.

Social Media and Communications Officers
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Control of the club's website communication portal, as well as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. In charge of generating new content to promote fixtures and results, as well as creating new posts on the platforms to promote interests (charities, events, etc).
They provide a weekly report of Club results to David Pye and the Sports Desk at Bolton News, no later than Tuesday Evening each week.
They are a member of the Club & Social committee.

Web Officer
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Maintenance of the website, managed the passwords for all of the social media accounts, as well as access control. Make sure that data is up to date for the public-facing side of BHC (google info).
This is a non-committee role.

Men’s Section Rep
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Represent the voice of all within the section (including parents/guardians) at the club committee, and bring suggestions, ideas and complaints to the club committee. Complaints should first be raised with the section lead, if they can’t be resolved at that level then brought to the full committee.
Has to be a full fees paying member of the section.
It is recommended the rep is not the captain.
They are a member of the Club & Social committee.

Women’s Section Rep
Term Limit: 1 year
Definition: Represent the voice of all within the section (including parents/guardians) at the club committee, and bring suggestions, ideas and complaints to the club committee. Complaints should first be raised with the section lead, if it can’t be resolved at that level then brought to full committee.

Term Limit: 1 year
An observer is asked to provide a neutral and unbiased view at committee meetings. To bring their observations of club ongoings to the club committee, either in person or via the ask the committee function.
This role is open to non-playing members.
They are a member of the Club & Social committee.
