Hard earnt victory for the men’s 1s

Bolton arrive at Lymm with both teams having lost their opening encounters in the new season. Making this game even more important.

Lymm came out of the traps the better of the two, with Bolton making numerous mistakes, turning the ball over too many times and Lymm made their possession count, with a well worked goal 1-0. Bolton turned to Lee Ramagge to come off the bench and make a difference in the game. It wasn’t long before Bolton won a short corner which didn’t go to the original plan, however, that man Ramagge was on hand to bury the ball in the bottom corner to equalise when the rebound came his way.

It wasn’t 1-1 for long as Lymm managed to get themselves back ahead. They had the chance to double their lead with a penalty flick following a foot on the line from a Bolton defender. Thankfully from a Bolton point of view the ball hit the post and stayed out of the goal. After a few good touches from Scott and Zayn, the ball fell to Sam Robinson who made his way through 4 players in a congested space at the top of d, playing a game of ‘keepy upies’ with himself before slotting it past the keeper. 2-2 half time.

Back came Lymm with a short corner to put themselves ahead for a 3rd time. 3-2. Almost instantly, Bolton won a short corner from the push back. The ball was slipped left to captain Scott Mather whose shot on goal was too much for the defender on the line to handle and equalised for a 3rd time.

This time Bolton had learnt their lessons and got their noses in front with another goal from Lee Ramagge who cooly lifted the ball with pace over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. With time running out for Lymm to get their own equaliser. Ramagge hit the final nail into their coffin with a 180 degree spin to put the ball under the goalkeeper and complete his hat trick.

A tough fixture with Bolton coming away with all 3 points, thanks to all 13 players putting in maximum effort and endeavour. Ramagge takes the man of the match award. A special mention should go to Amu for keeping Bolton in the game after an onslaught of short corners being kept out in the second half by the goalkeeper.
